CEO Message: Experience The Maldives In 2020 With Crown & Champa Resorts!

January 5, 2020

Dear Guests,

Wherever the New Year finds you, we hope that it is off to a great start. After the exciting festive season, we have hit the ground running with our 2020 plans. The coming weeks will find us touring Europe, building our partner relationships, networking and seeking out knowledge. Our vision as Crown & Champa Resorts hinges on continuously innovating and improving our offerings to elevate the standard of hospitality we provide. Even so, you can always expect us to remain rooted in our local heritage and to continually offer excellent value and a diversified portfolio.

Throughout the travel industry, there is a shift towards more experiential holidays, with the buzzword of the year being ‘slow travel’. However you choose to look at the meaning of the term, from sustainable vacations to long days spent in a destination, you can slow down as much as you need to with Crown & Champa Resorts in the Maldives. Our resorts have implemented a variety of sustainable measures, an effort that is continuously being improved on, as sustainability lies at the heart of Crown & Champa Resorts. Additionally, there is so much to experience at each of our resorts, from adventures at sea to leisurely days spent immersing into island life.

We hope that the days ahead lead you to our resorts, to experience all the Maldives has to offer.

Sincerely,

Martin Vossen,

Chief Executive Officer

Happy World Tourism Day From Crown & Champa Resorts | #WTD2019

September 27, 2019

From its humble beginnings in 1972, with only two resorts, the tourism industry in the Maldives has grown in leaps and bounds. Now, with every new opening, we are seeing innovative solutions and extraordinary experiences that push the envelope of hospitality. September marks the day when World Tourism Day is celebrated. This year, the theme is ‘Tourism and Jobs: A Better Future For All’.

Globally, the tourism sector is a significant source of employment, accounting for one in ten jobs, due to the labour-intensive nature of tourism. Tourism is also a major driver of global economic growth. This rings true for the Maldives, with tourism contributing to 23% of the country’s GDP. The World Bank predicts that tourism will continue to be the main driver of economic growth for the Maldives.

As we reflect on the role that the tourism industry plays, we are also considering how Crown & Champa Resorts contributes to the sector. Specifically, the quality of jobs we are creating and how inclusive we are in that process. With over 3,000 team members in our employ and more job opportunities becoming available due to our expanding property portfolio, we are continuing to empower more people by offering competitive salaries and a variety of benefits.

With the growth of the tourism industry, now more than ever, we are conscious of sustainable tourism. Beyond the environmental-friendly measures we have implemented across all our properties, we regularly take part in awareness campaigns. Most recently, our properties organised World Clean Up Day activities and rallied the support of guests and team members in cleaning up neighbouring islands.

Crown & Champa Resorts remains committed to creating livelihoods and taking care of this beautiful country we operate in.

We are grateful to you for choosing Crown & Champa Resorts as your preferred choice in the Maldives. We look forward to welcoming you to our properties in the coming days.

Sincerely,

Martin Vossen

Dear guests,

Greetings from the Maldives!

Sustainability is at the heart of Crown & Champa Resorts. As such, we ensure that we take great care of the environment in which our resorts operate. From land to sea, we do our best to maintain the unspoilt beauty of nature. It was important for us to celebrate World Environment Day and World Oceans Day in all our properties with various activities such as island and lagoon cleanups. Further, we continue to look into implementing more environment-friendly measures to work alongside the initiatives we have in place.

Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi was recognised as the best Sustainable Project, in the recently announced 2019 HD Awards by Hospitality Design Magazine. The premier competition celebrates the best in hospitality project and product design worldwide. Our sales team has been attending various summits and roadshows in an effort to forge great business relationships and to promote our award-winning resorts.

With the summer holidays fast approaching, we would be delighted to welcome your family to our resorts. Most of our properties offer ample family-friendly facilities, allowing you to create special lifelong memories with your dear ones. Tailored programmes for kids, provided by the kid’s clubs in Meeru Island Resort & Spa and Kuredu Island Resort & Spa, guarantee that your children will have a fantastic time while on holiday.

For those of you planning your winter break, we urge you to visit individual resort websites to take advantage of available early bird offers and stay up to date with the latest news from your favourite resort.

We look forward to welcoming you back to paradise for sun, sea, sand and much more.
