The Academy of Learning, as a Training and Development Department initiative, encourages individuals to be the best they can be, by providing access to coaching, mentoring, training and sponsorship programs that are inline with Crown & Champa Resorts’ goals and individual aspirations. Our Trainers are qualified professionals with extensive experience in Group Training Techniques, Hospitality Management and Communications in the Training and Development field.

 

With the Crown & Champa Resorts’ sponsorship program, each Resort sponsors a number of staff members to attend vocational-oriented courses in Male’, as well as overseas institutions for Undergraduate Degrees. The sponsorship include course fees, accommodation, meals and study materials, while the employee earns the monthly salary that they would be earning.

 

In the past year, over 18 staff from the various Resorts have been enrolled into Scholarship programs to further their qualifications in the hospitality and tourism industry. Over 20 students are set to graduate in the course of the year.

Excursions Supervisor, Abdul Wahhab Abdul Rahman has been with Kuredu Island Resort & Spa for over 27 years in total. He ensures the smooth running of all excursions that guests take part in, whether it is a romantic excursion, fishing venture, luxury sailing aboard the Britt and Muna yachts or island hopping trip. Wahhab also supervises Kuredu’s Golf Club, which boasts a full size driving range and a large putting green to perfect your skills.

 

Meeru Island Resort & Spa guests will occasionally see Zaid Mohamed Didi on excursions as a guide or hosting special events and nighttime entertainment. As Sports, Entertainment & Activities Manager, Zaid and his team seek to tailor each guest’s experience of the Maldives and meet their expectations with every activity, including Driving Range, Putting Green and 9-hole Pitch & Putt activities on Meeru’s sizable Golf Course, to Robinson Crusoe and Kagi Excursions.

 

The Ocean Sports Center provides state of the art equipment and lessons for guests to start their Indian Ocean adventures. Veligandu Island Resort & Spa’s Ocean Sports Instructor, Imran Mohamed has turned his passion into a profession with the fun motto, ‘If we’re not wet, we’re not working!’
