GOLD 100 Award for Crown & Champa Resorts

Of the, approximately, 10 000 companies currently listed in the Maldives, only 100 were selected by a judging panel and awarded prestigious GOLD 100 Award plaques.

The list of notable companies in various industries was reviled in an exclusive, invite-only, gala at Kurumba Resort. Over 150 reputable guests and prominent business leaders were in attendance, including the Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), Azeema Adam as the chief guest.

Leading Maldivian tourism group, Crown & Champa Resorts (CCR) was among the 100 companies to receive the sought-after GOLD 100 Award. Established in 2000, CCR is owned and operated by Maldivian and foreign partners. Maldives Tourism avant-garde, entrepreneur and one of the Directors of CCR, Mr. Hussain Afeef was awarded a Corporate Maldives Lifetime Achievement Award for pioneering the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in the Maldives.

The first issue of the Corporate Maldives GOLD 100 magazine was also unveiled at the event, launched by Chief Guest Dr. Azeema Adam and Managing Director of Maldives Getaways, Mr. Akhmeem Abdul Razzaq. The magazine includes the complete list of the GOLD 100 Award winners and leading businesses in the Maldives, categorized by industry and with company profiles and other up-to-date information.

The Bank of Maldives mainly sponsored the Gold 100 Gala Night, with Allied, The Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), MTCC and Dhiraagu as co-sponsors. The Ministry of Finance, MMA, the Maldives Stock Exchange as well as the Capital Market Development Authority all have played an important role in the event.
